At her age, one of her favorite activities is to draw. Well, mostly she just scribbles and then instruct the adults to draw her favorite characters like fish, duck.. even barney (of course!).
Besides the magic pad, we also provide her with crayons and coloring book, to stimulate her motoric skills. But apparently, the only thing that’s stimulating her is to break the crayons to pieces. She’s definitely has the strength for it now .. and ended up having those broken pieces everywhere.
So I decided to re-bake them in a different shape so it’s breakable-proof. All you need is a muffin pan and the broken crayons.
First, put the pieces inside the pan. You can put all the same color, or you can combine them. The thicker it is, the better, so it’s break-proof.
Bake them in an oven about 180C for about 5-8 minutes. Take them out once they melt to the pan. Pop them inside the freezer. They’ll pop out easily from the pan once it’s cold.
Voila! They’re ready to use. The colorful niblets can be also used for gifts. Just place them in a clear plastic bag and tie it with a ribbon. Cute!
Remember, don’t make it too thin, or else it’s also easy for the toddler to break it to pieces.
